Darbouka, req, daff and other frame drums and drum kit.

Classical and contemporary styles.

 

Brazil

Instruments:
Surdo, tambourim, caixa (snare drum), timba, atabaques/congas, berimbau, small percussion ( agogo bells, shakers/ganzas… ) and drum kit

Styles:
Samba, Maracatu and other North Eastern styles, fusion.

 

Afro Cuban/Caribbean

Instruments:
Congas, bongos, timbales and all small percussion (cowbell, maracas, guiro…), drum kit.

Styles:
Traditional (rumba and related styles), “Salsa” and Zouk.

 

West Africa

Instruments:
Djembe, dun-duns, and drum kit.

Styles:
Traditional (Mandingue, Malinke…), electric (Electric dance band and fusion).

 

Central African

Drum kit, congas and other hand drums.

Soukous, Makossa, Kwassa kwassa and Afro Beat.

Spoons and body percussion.
